Day 1

Home - Rome airport (FCO)

Day 2 - Rome

Upon arrival, meet our Andiamo Representative and transfer to your hotel. Early Welcome Dinner Party with music. (D)

Day 3 - Rome

This morning, a guided tour will show us the Vatican Museum featuring the Tapestry Gallery, the Maps Room and the Sistine Chapel. We proceed to St. Peter's Basilica, the largest example of Christianity. Back on the coach we cross the Tiber River and see St Angel's Castle, the Synagogue, Capitol Hill and the Roman Forum then a visit the Coliseum. The rest of the afternoon is free for more exploration or to join optional excursions offered. Evening at leisure. (BB)

Day 4 - Rome - Florence

We travel though graceful and gentle hills of Umbria and Tuscany to reach Florence, the capital and jewel of the Renaissance. Lunch on your own. Our local guide will start by showing Michelangelo's David at the Academy of Fine Arts, the Baptistery with its famous "Gates of Paradise", the Cathedral, and Signoria Square with its astonishing open-air museum. Free time to shop for leather and gold or visit other museums. This evening, enjoy local Tuscan cuisine at a restaurant of your choice. (BB)

Day 5 - Florence - Cinqueterre/Sestri Levante
Today's highlight will be a fabulous trip to Cinqueterre. After breakfast, we cross Tuscan territory bypassing Lucca and ending at La Spezia, a large port on the western coast. We catch a local train that takes us along the rocky coast of Cinqueterre with its typical colorful villages. We stop at Manarola to stroll along the breathtaking and famous "Love Road". Then to Monterosso for a short visit. Then by train to our hotel in Sestri Levante for dinner and overnight. (BB D)
Day 6 - Sestri - Milan - Como
Truly a day to be remembered, crossing the spectacular Apennines Mountain range and heading to Milan. Orientation tour will show the Gothic Cathedral with its 135 pinnacles and over 200 white marble statues, the Galleria, the first Italian shopping center covered by glass, and La Scala, the most famous opera house in the world built in 1777. Then, a short drive to Como, the silk capital of Europe. Tonight, dine at the restaurant at our hotel. (BB D)
Day 7 - Como - Switzerland Excursion

This morning, we enter Switzerland and stop at Lugano, famous for watches and chocolate. Then a scenic drive along Lake Como to admire villas and hotels, will take us back to Como. Rest of the day at leisure. (BB)

Day 8 - Como - Lake Garda - Torbole

This morning, we drive to Sirmione on Lake Garda, a narrow tongue of earth, ending in a rocky peninsula. Time to explore this beautiful medieval village. Then, by following the lakeshore covered by olives and cypress trees, we reach the northern side of the lake. Dinner at our hotel. (BB D)

Day 9 - Torbole - Venice

Today, we drive to Verona, the romantic city of Romeo & Juliet. We admire Juliet's balcony, Herbs Square, and the Arena. After lunch on your own, a short drive leads us to Vivaldi town of Venice. Transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (BB D)

Day 10 - Venice

Our day starts with a walking tour to see St. Mark Square, Basilica, Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. Later, we visit a Murano glass blowing company. Free time - it will be hard to resist a gondola ride or an optional trip to Burano Islands, the Fisherman Island also renowned for handmade lace items. Tonight enjoy your Farewell Dinner at a typical Venetian Cantina. (BB D)

Day 11 - Venice - Home

Time to say "Arrivederci" to Italy. Transfer to Venice Airport (VCE). (BB)
